Daily program
1st day – Arrival at Florence airport, transfer by taxi (on clients’ own, not included), check-in at the hotel. Half day guided tour of Florence (this visit can be effected either at arrival or at departure, according to flights schedule); lunch and dinner at leisure, overnight stay.
2nd day – Breakfast; full day group excursion to Pisa and Lucca with wine tasting ; lunch not included; dinner at leisure and overnight stay.
3rd day – Breakfast, full day group excursion to Siena, San Gimignano and Chianti with wine tasting; lunch not included; dinner at leisure and overnight stay.
4th day – Breakfast; transfer on your own to Florence airport. End of our services.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE ITINERARY:
GUIDED TOUR OF FLORENCE
The timeless charm of Florence makes it one of the most important cities of artistic interest in the world. The cult of beauty is everywhere: wonderful buildings, beautiful squares and extraordinary landscapes are blended harmoniously with Tuscan traditions.
The discovering of the town starts with a visit on foot through Florence historical centre.
The most important and interesting sights that will be touched on are the Duomo and its eminent cupola, the splendid church of Santa Croce, that hosts the tombs of illustrious historical men and its beautiful square that, dating back to ancient times, held popular and religious events, parties, festivals and games.
The tour ends at the archway of the famous Uffizi Museum, one of the most important collections of priceless art works. From there it’s possible to admire the Old Bridge with its fascinating gold shops.
PISA AND LUCCA
A full day tour to discover the picturesque Lucca and world famous Pisa.
Upon arrival in Pisa, a guided walking tour of Piazza dei Miracoli, to admire the Leaning Tower (exterior), the Baptistery (exterior) and the interior of the majestic Cathedral. Time at leisure before departing to Lucca.
In Lucca, our expert tour Manager will escort participants to a pleasant walk into the enchanting historical centre, with Anfiteatro Square, Guinigi Tower, San Martino’s Dome and the typical “antique dealers street”.
SIENA AND SAN GIMIGNANO
Experience with this tour a wonderful day in Tuscan countryside, admiring the most suggestive corners of Siena and San Gimignano and tasting superb local wines.
Departing from Florence, first stop is in San Gimignano, one of the most fascinating and still intact examples of medieval town, declared a World Heritage Site by the Unesco; time at leisure to shop and discover the beautiful squares, buildings, churches and suggestive alleyways. On the way to Siena, stop in a farmhouse, where participants will taste some of the best wines of Tuscany, with a rich snack of sliced cold meats, bruschettas, salami and cheese. Upon arrival in Siena, time at leisure for lunch (not included) and shopping; in the afternoon, a local licensed guide will lead the group through steep medieval streets, admiring wonderful old palaces and buildings, the imposing Cathedral (visit of the interior), Palazzo Comunale (Municipal Building) and Piazza del Campo, where the famous “Palio” horse race takes place every year.
